Ah, my poor liver...
What a silly, retarded weekend it's been. You know how I know it's been a hard one? You know how I know when it's been tough? When I wake up and *preventatively* drink an entire powerade and down two nurofen, just to face the day. Things aren't okay when your pre-breakfast involves sugar and ibuprofen.
Friday night I headed to Auckland's north shore to see the fabulous Rick Dangerous, a lovely wee indie outfit who play pretty ditties and wear Threadless shirts. I ended the evening on the roof of a Takapuna house, eating corn chips and drinking from a plastic cup shaped like a penguin; classy. I did my usual Auntie Peach thing and dished out advice to my willing, one-person audience. See? Auntie Peach the adviser came long before Auntie Peach the fashionista. Fashionista? Oh el oh el.
Then last night, I had two very special house guests. My friend James was up from Wellington for his brother's engagement party, and my dear friend Nick was over from Melbourne for his mother's 60th. So we ended up having a VERY late starting party at The Lezzie (our lovely house that you see in the auction photos), that lasted til 5am...ish. Cripes.
We were all a little worse for wear this morning, and ended up holed up in the lounge on blow up beds, playing charades. Seriously, charades. After about an hour of this, I realised that I couldn't disappoint my little peachers, and pryed dear Aimee from her marshmallow bed to take photos of me and some new peach treats in the garden. It swiftly began a group event, and our dear friend Paul took it upon himself to model this little ditty:
What a hottie.
Anyway, Paul being Paul decided to take his belligerence to extremes, and decided not to move from my carefully orchestrated yellow chair ensemble, made specially for auntie peach auctions.
"Hey Paul, get up," I said.
"Actually? Nah," he replied.
So he sat there, reading a book on optimum use of small Japanese apartments, whilst the APV shoot continued. What a bastard.
New auctions up tomorrow loves!

Hello Peachies!
We had a busy week last week, getting everything together for Auntie Peach Live, so I didn't have the opportunity (or the stock) to put listings up, my bad! The garage sale went well, with lots of pretty vintagey, contemporary ladies poring over myself, Bex and Jane's items. Sexy Bex did the best, thanks to her plethora of Mala Brajkovic and Karen Walker wares, but Auntie Peach went down a treat, despite her half-hangover that had her heart racing at an early morning drink stop! Silly Peach, your body processes a drink an hour, not a drink a night! Colour me worry wart I say.
We will be doing Auntie Peach live again, and hope to make it more of a market-style garage sale. So do we have any crafty people out there that would like to take part? Drop me a line, I'd love to hear from you.
I have lots of new fall and winter stock in at the moment however, and I can't wait to show it to you all. New jerseys! New David Bain jerseys even! I am most excited. I went out last weekend and found all manner of colourful joy, everything from bright and obnoxious jerseys to pretty rockabilly dresses. The forecast says it's going to rain on Sunday, but we're going to push to get some pieces photo'd this weekend, hopefully featuring the hot 'n sexy Bronwyn, aka Voodoo Child, aka the Pirate City Roller Derby Team's 2007 Rookie of the Year. I heart her, she is grand. Not one but FOUR Auntie Peach models, and counting. And lest we forget photographer extraordinaire Aimee, who I WILL get in front of the camera one day and taunt her with my large and obnoxious black lens. Oh yes.
Now I'm done with blabbering, I can remind you all that I'm clearing way for the new season with a $1 Reserve sale! Check out the listings on trade me or check below for some el cheapo bargains! (And yes, the super sexy Bret McKenzie cheetah is also for sale, bonza!)
Have a swell week pretties!

Auntie Peach Vintage, LIVE this weekend!
This weekend, Auntie Peach Vintage is taking part in a super designer garage sale in Kingsland, Auckland. If you're around and you'd like to try on some Auntie Peach Vintage in the flesh, come along and meet me and the crew! You'll meet my irreverent photographer Aimee, hopefully my super-sexy model Jo, and come on... I'LL be there. Aren't you kittens lucky?
Here's a wee jpeg flyer made up by the lovely Bex:
Bex and her lovely fiance Macca are moving to England in four months. She has lovely style, absolutely gorgeous clothes, and far too many of them! So you know there'll be a good selection and it'll be in good nick! So take a look, and head along if you're close by and in for a bargain!
Peace!

There's twee in my tree!
Every week for my job at autofile magazine, I go searching through the weird and wonderful news of the world for a column called Yardstick. It's very popular with the subscribers, and an absolute joy to source material for. Today, amongst the dangerous drivers and clumsy crooks of the world, came a story and pictures that warmed my heart.
"No, that's not a hallucination. That pear tree is wearing a sweater.
"Wrapped around the trunk is a colorful, crazy-quilt skin made up of panels of yarn knitted individually by residents and visitors alike. Good-luck charms cling to the yarn. Family photos, poems and jokes peek out of knitted pockets.
"The art project in this southwest Ohio village, already known for its offbeat art, has become a conversation piece and even a photo op."
I don't think I've ever been the sort to get excited about winter. I love dresses and sand and car trips and ice blocks, and this past summer people have had to prise me out of my circa 1980s yellow adidas stubbie shorts.
But this gave me a wee sigh for the pleasures of the colder months- starchy vegetables for tea, warming your hands on a cup of soup or tea, woolly hats, gloves and JERSEYS! I love jerseys.
Last year my favourite jerseys (jumpers? pullovers? sweaters?) got a bit of a name for themselves, after I christened them "David Bain" jerseys. Given his reason for notoriety, it was a bit cruel, I know, but his taste in jerseys was impeccable:
So roll on winter I say!

Auntie Peach goes into the future!
Hi people,
Welcome to my new blog. Fantabulous Aimee has made this wonderful blog for Auntie Peach Vintage, hoping to stem the tide of internet disinterest caused by the likes of Myspace getting lame, Facebook being no place for people like The Auntie, and everyone's lives getting so busy that they can't be heading to and from different websites all the time.
If you'd like to stay updated with Auntie Peach Vintage, you should get into RSS feeds.
Using RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a really easy way to read frequently updated content like blogs, headlines and podcasts. An RSS document (like every blog entry on Auntie Peach Vintage) contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that can be piped into special programs or filtered displays.
Like me! I use gmail, which makes things really simple. Using Google Reader, you can subscribe to content that will pop up automatically on one screen, without going to every single website to read up!
To get there from gmail, click on the reader link in the top corner:
Once in there, all you have to do is click on "add subscription":
And enter the URL for Auntie Peach Vintage at blogger:
And you're away! Whenever you click on the reader link, you'll see any new entries I've added, like here:
And while you're at it, why not subscribe to some other blogs? (Like I have here... now you know all my shameless celebro-blog and indiewank music podcast secrets!)
Updates to the blog coming soon, with lots of fresh new peaches for the autumn season!
Peace out!
