OH HAI

Hi people!

Long time no see, right? It's been a while, due mostly to a crazy year with roller roller roller derby, which has delightfully swallowed and changed my life for the better; I adore it. The bravado, the skill, the strength and the rush of the game have made such a difference to my life, and now I know I'm going to be playing it until they go, "Come on Nana, you're embarrassing yourself".

All this busyness has meant a total lack of Auntie Peaching it this year, but now the derby season has come to an end, I'm back! And to celebrate, I've found a selection of positively delectable swimsuits, a couple of cheeky shirts and even a glomesh bag!

Sorry to whoever brought this to Swap Away, I picked this up but was totally dreaming about getting my bewbs into this!









In the next few weeks I'm going to have loads more stuff for sale, as well as a selection of some of my favourite thrift finds this year, so stay tuned!

Sorry I've been so slack this week, I've been busy quitting my second job, training a new person, working on my magazine and readying myself for the Beach Hop 50s and 60s nostalgia festival in Whangamata this weekend. I'm going for work, but with a bunch of girls from derby, but it should be excellente! I'll be rocking coloured scarfs, colourful heels and brand spanking new hair! Awesome.

Holy Roller Skates Batman!

Last weekend, I very fortuitously left my car outside a bar where we'd been watching a band the night before. The next day, fair Graham gave me a lift back to my vehicle, and I headed home for a bit more sleep. Lucky for me, I stumbled across a garage sale at Harlequin Costume Hire on Auckland's Great North Road, where I stumbled on these beauties!















I now own not one, but THREE pairs of roller skates, and am very happy with all three. And these? These were only FIVE BUCKS!

I now need to clean these puppies up a little, get them some lovely new laces and sort out the wheels. I was a bit frightened on them the other day, and not just because of their tiny, tiny wheels:



They also have rickety trucks and jangly bearings- as you'd expect from old, rusty skates! But I'm not going to skate on them much (if at all), so I don't know how much to invest. So what do you think? Clean them up and keep them as is? Or kit them out with new wheels (in red) and maybe some new trucks?
